- GMDN category: Invasive vascular ultrasound system probe
Intended purpose
Transonic’s FlowXL Flowprobes use transit-time ultrasound technology to measure volume flow of blood and other liquids, and report derived parameters such as but not limited to Pulsatility Index, Diastolic Filling Percentage, and Diastolic/Systolic Ratio during surgical interventions.
Functional description
Transonic Flowprobes and Flowsensors connect to the side panel of the FlowXL Flowmeter. Two or four ultrasonic transducers within the Sensor body transmit a minimal level of ultrasound through a rectangular sensing window. Volume flow of all non-aerated liquid passing through the sensing window is measured.
