Laparoscopic electrosurgical scissors

Intended purpose

Used for accessing the common bile duct when standard methods of cannulation have been exhausted. This device is a needle knife papillotome which is a cannula fitted with an exposed electrocautery wire for cutting. The cutting wire extends beyond the distal tip and is used to precut the Ampulla of Vater in the common bile and pancreatic ducts in order to allow access to the ductal system for removing stones, treating strictures, or introducing stents.
