Intended purpose
A sterile, hand-held, manual instrument used to obtain a specimen of capillary blood, typically from the finger tip or ear lobe. It is comprised of a pre-loaded lancet tip that is manually-powered by being spring-loaded to enable the tip to puncture the skin to a pre-determined depth. This is a single-use device.
