Intended purpose

The implant is a component of the e.motion® System which is indicated for patients requiring primary or revision surgery. It is used as a component part of a human knee endoprosthesis in combination with e.motion mobile bearing knee endoprosthetic components. Indications: Severe knee joint conditions that cannot be treated through other therapies: - Degenerative osteoarthritis - Rheumatoid arthritis - Posttraumatic arthritis - Symptomatic knee instability - Knee stiffness - Deformation of the knee joint The surgeon can select the optimum solution for the patient from the various implant types of the knee systems, according to the severity of the condition. The surgeon is responsible for correctly establishing the indication.

Functional description

e.motion® UC Meniscal Component is a rotating meniscal component whose ultra-congruent design aims for mobility and stability. e.motion® UC allows the surgeons the intraoperative choice to either preserve or substitute the posterior cruciate ligament. Functioning collateral ligaments, balances joint gaps and the highly congruent prosthesis design allow resecting the PCL without femoral bone loss. The Device is made from polyethylene with x-ray markers and includes a CoCrMo tibial pivot.
