Intended purpose
A device that can analyse the electrocardiogram (ECG) to determine whether or not a defibrillator shock should be delivered. It is attached to the patient through a pair of adhesive defibrillation electrodes that serve both to monitor the ECG and to deliver the defibrillator discharges. The automated external defibrillator delivers a shock to the patient automatically.
