Intended purpose

CardiAid is a public access automated external defibrillator(AED) designed for use in cases of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) due to ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia. The device automatically detects ventricular arrhythmias, analyzes the patient’s electrocardiogram (ECG),and, if necessary, delivers an electrical shock, to re-establish an effective rhythm, alerting the user before the shock is administered. CardiAid can be used for the resuscitation of patients older than 8 years (>25 kg) with standard electrodes and patients 1 to 8 years old (<25 kg) with special paediatric electrodes. It is intended to be used by laypersons in emergency situations, providing clear and comprehensible guidance throughout the resuscitation process.
