Intended purpose

An electrical conductor comprised of an electrode handpiece with cables and an active electrode, typically non-detachable, intended to provide an electrical connection between the output terminals of an electrosurgical diathermy generator and a patient. The energy emitted from the device is used to cut and coagulate tissue at a surgical site on the patient. The operator regulates the energy with an electrical power switch that is incorporated into a foot pedal. This is a single use device.
