Intended purpose

This is a small metallic rod that is inserted into the bone in the jaw that is intended to be uses as an anchor for orthodontic devices such as springs and plates. It is used in a variety of treatment options especially when normal anatomy is compromised. It is removed after the alignment of teeth is complete.
