Orthopaedic fixation suture button

Intended purpose

Two small non-bioabsorbable implantable buttons designed to retain an attached loop of UHMWPE suture to provide fixation during the healing process following a syndesmotic trauma or after a joint reconstruction in the midfoot and forefoot. It may be used as a stand-alone device or in conjunction with plate fixation. It is typically implanted using the dedicated implantation instruments supplied with the implant. Other standard instrumentation may also be required to perform the procedure.
