CODMAN HOLTER Distal Peritoneal Catheter - Peritoneal/atrial cerebrospinal fluid catheter

Intended purpose

A Distal Peritoneal Catheter indicated for use with a proximal valve in the treatment of hydrocephalus where ventriculoperitoneal shunting is the procedure of choice.

Functional description

The Distal Peritoneal Catheter is a barium-impregnated silicone rubber catheter which is 90cm long. It is supplied with two sterile HOLTER Type A Connectors. There are two types of catheter, the Barium Open End and Salmon Design. Salmon Design catheter has a closed solid silicone distal tip with four side slits 90 degrees apart.
