Intended purpose
The Sophysa Atrial/Peritoneal Catheters are intended for the treatment of hydrocephalus. They constitute part of a shunt designed to ensure drainage of CSF from the Sophysa valve to the abdominal cavity or right atrium of the heart.
Functional description
The Sophysa Atrial/Peritoneal Catheter is a flexible tube implanted at the distal end of a shunt valve. It is used to channel cerebrospinal fluid to the abdominal cavity or right atrium where it can be absored into the body.
