Marathon XLPE Cemented Cup - Polyethylene acetabulum prosthesis

Intended purpose

The Marathon XLPE Cemented Cup is a sterile implantable acetabular component for total hip arthroplasty designed to replace the acetabulum. Indications for joint replacement include: a severely painful and/or arthritic joint (typically due to non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease), failed previous hip surgery and acute fracture of the femoral head or neck.

Functional description

The Marathon XLPE Cemented Cups are intended to replace the natural acetablum via cemented fixation. It articulates with the femoral head. The component is of a one-piece construction and is made entirely of cross linked polyethylene.
