Intended purpose
A component of a total knee joint intended to replace the natural patella. General Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA): Painful, disabling joint disease of the knee resulting from noninflammatory degenerative joint disease; Moderate varus, valgus, or flexion deformity in which the ligamentous structures can be returned to adequate function and stability; Revision of previous unsuccessful knee replacement or other procedure.
Functional description
A sterile implantable component of the Triathlon Total Knee System, designed as an artificial substitute for the natural patella (kneecap), designed to articulate with the distal femoral component of a Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). Made X3 polyethylene (highly cross-linked UHWMPE).
