NexGen® Complete Knee Solution, All Poly Patella, Standard - Polyethylene patella prosthesis

Intended purpose

Intended for the replacement of the natural patellar (kneecap) in patients with severe knee pain and disability due to: Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, polyarthritis. Collagen disorders, and/or avascular necrosis of the femoral condyle, Post-traumatic loss of joint configuration, particularly when there is patellofemoral erosion, dysfunction or prior patellectomy. Moderate valgus, varus, or flexion deformities. The salvage of previously failed surgical attempts or for a knee in which satisfactory stability in flexion cannot be obtained at the time of surgery.

Functional description

NexGen® All-Polyethylene Patella is a patellar component of the NexGen Complete Knee System and is used to replace the natural patellar (kneecap). It is designed to articulate with a prosthetic distal femoral component and is made from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. It has a three-peg design at its base to aid fixation. It is indicated for cemented use only.
