Intended purpose
The implant is used as a component part of a human knee endoprosthesis. It is used for replacing the meniscus during bicondylar replacement of the knee joint. Indications: Severe knee joint conditions that cannot be treated through other therapies, Degenerative osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Posttraumatic arthritis, Symptomatic knee instability, Knee stiffness, Deformation of the knee joint.
Functional description
For use of the Columbus PS, the posterior cruciate ligament has to be resected. This fixed bearing, posterior stabilised device is used in combination with the Columbus PS femoral component and the Columbus CR/PS or CRA/PSA tibial plateau. The post of the Columbus PS gliding surface in combination with the box of the Columbus PS femoral component provides additional medio-lateral stability. Supplied with a screw for fixation on the tibial plateau. Made from UHMWPE and CoCrMo.
