Intended purpose

The NANOS Femoral Neck Prosthesis is a femoral stem component of a total hip system. The NANOS is indicated for - Primary and secondary osteoarthritis of the hip - Dysplasia osteoarthritis - Avascular and post-traumatic femoral head necrosis - Patients with good bone density and intact femoral neck.

Functional description

A sterile titanium (Ti6Al4V) forged alloy femoral neck prosthesis having a 12/14 cone for cementless fixation with a proximal rough titanium plasma coating and an additional layer of synthetic origin calcium phosphate (BONIT). The concept of the prosthesis is to have as long as possible an attachment in the region of the calcar to ensure optimum load transfer and a cortical attachment in the distal-lateral side to support and compensate loads in the varus direction, with minimal bone resection.
