Intended purpose

The TrendHip HAP Stem is a cementless femoral stem intended to be used as a component of a hip endoprosthesis during total hip arthroplasty procedures. In combination with hip endoprosthetic components, the stem can be used to treat acute disorders of the hip such as: - Degenerative affection of the joint including primitive or post-traumatic coxarthrosis and femoral head osteonecrosis, - Inflammatory affection including rheumatoid polyarthritis and ankylosing spondyloarthritis, - Treatment of unstable displaced intracapsular femoral neck fractures, - Hip dysplasia, - Sequels of chronic dislocation.

Functional description

The TrendHip HAP Stem is a self-locking femoral stem with a Morse taper and is intended to be used with a femoral head to articulate with an acetabular component. The TrendHip Stem is compatible with Aesculap hip prosthetic components. The body of the stem is coated with a titanium alloy and hydroxyapatite. For cementless implantation.
