- GMDN category: Press-fit hip femur prosthesis, modular
Intended purpose
Porous coated titanium alloy interlocking distal femoral stem intended for use as one component of the Arcos modular hip revision system. Indications for use: Non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis; rheumatoid arthritis; correction of functional deformity; treatment of non-union, femoral neck fracture, and trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur with head involvement, unmanageable using other techniques; revision of previously failed total hip arthroplasties. Intended for uncemented use only
Functional description
Interlocking distal femoral stem fully PPS coated; polished bullet-shaped distal tip to provide gradual separation from cortex to reduce distal stresses. Includes interlocking screw holes inserted percutaneously for initial rotational stability in complex femoral reconstruction. Ti alloy PPS coated; uncemented use. Bowed stem; roller hardened taper; packaged with locking screw. Used with Biomet Type 1 taper modular heads; compatible acetabular shells/liners, screws
