- GMDN category: Press-fit hip femur prosthesis, modular
Intended purpose
Titanium alloy trochanter replacement intended for use as one component of the MRP modular hip revision system. The hip revision system serves as a cementless revision implant for use in the femur. The aim is the optimal intraoperative adaptability to the individual conditions, the conception with regard to so-called "problem cases" of femoral (re-)revision arthroplasty (type 1, type 2C and type 3 defects according to Paprosky), the restoration of the physiological joint geometry, a load-stable implant anchorage, a functional restoration, free resection possibility, optimal kinematics and, if necessary, soft tissue fixation. Indications: • Congenital or acquired hip joint defects • Already performed and worn joint replacement (revision) or in case of failed operations • Defects or malfunctions of the hip joint • Revisions with extensive bone resection • Trauma-related bone loss • Coxa vara and coxa valga
Functional description
Titanium alloy trochanter for replacement of the great trochanter via attachment to one of the variants of the proximal femoral body of the MRP Titan modular hip replacement system.
