Intended purpose

The tibial articular insert component of the JOURNEY Bi-cruciate Stabilized (BCS) Total Knee System. Indications for use include rheumatoid arthritis; post-traumatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, or degenenerative arthritis in older patients whose age, weight, and activity level are compatible with an adequate long-term result; failed osteotomies or unicompartmental replacement. The device is restricted for use in revision surgery only.

Functional description

An implantable device designed to articulate with the femoral and tibial components of a knee joint prosthesis during primary knee joint replacement. It is a one-piece contoured ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) insert which locks into the cemented tibial tray.
