Intended purpose
The Vanguard cruciate retaining UHMWPE tibial bearing is designed for use in treatment of low demand, less active or sedentary patients, with intact cruciate ligament, as one component of the Vanguard total knee system. The indications for use: 1. Painful and disabled knee joint resulting from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, traumatic arthritis where one or more compartments are involved. 2. Correction of varus, valgus or posttraumatic deformity. 3. Correction or revision of unsuccessful osteotomy, arthrodesis, or failure of previous joint replacement procedure.
Functional description
The tibial bearing is constructed of direct compression moulded Arcom UHMWPE and articulates with the femoral and tibial tray components in patients with intact posterior cruciate ligaments. Standard or lipped shape options are provided for intra-operative flexibility to meet patient needs and surgeon preference.
