- GMDN category: Prosthesis, knee, internal, insert component
Intended purpose
Used as a non-constrained tibial insert bearing as part of the ACS Knee system. Knee arthroplasty with the ACS Knee System is indicated, where - severe joint destruction with significant impairment where other therapeutic measures are not more promising. - severe joint pain due to degenerative or rheumatoid arthritis, joint fractures or bone necrosis. - post-operative conditions after previous surgery with or without the use of implants. - bicompartmental osteoarthritis with concurrent loss/damage of both cruciate ligaments; intact collateral ligaments necessary.
Functional description
Constructed of UHMWPE. Anteriorly raised design leads to an increased congruency between femoral component and PE-insert and thus to increased stability. Due to the cylindrical peg on the underside, the PE-insert is combined with the MB SC tibial component and is therefore used for tibial revisions.
