Intended purpose

The Equinoxe Glenoid Plate is used to connect the glenosphere to the patient's glenoid cavity as part of a reverse shoulder joint replacement. The device is indicated for use in skeletally mature individuals with degenerative diseases of the glenohumeral joint and a grossly deficient, irreparable rotator cuff. The device is also indicated for a failed glenohumeral joint replacement with loss of rotator cuff function resulting in superior migration of the humeral head.

Functional description

The Equinoxe Glenoid Plate is implanted in the patient's glenoid cavity and mates with a glenosphere which serves to replace the articular surface of the patient's glenoid as part of a reverse shoulder replacement. The reverse shoulder 10 degree Superior Augment Glenoid Plate is designed to minimize the removal of the inferior cortical bone when reaming a superiorly worn glenoid in order to correct its inclination. The device is made from Titanium.
