- GMDN category: Reverse shoulder prosthesis body
Intended purpose
The Standard Reverse Humeral Body (SHORT) with locking screw is a component of the SMR Reverse Shoulder System. The SMR Reverse Shoulder System is indicated for primary, fracture or revision total shoulder replacement in a grossly rotator cuff deficient joint with severe arthropathy (disabled shoulder). The patient’s joint must be anatomically and structurally suited to receive the selected implants and a functional deltoid muscle is necessary.
Functional description
A Reverse Humeral Body Ti6Al4V has an angle of 30° between the axis of the taper for the coupling with the stem and the axis perpendicular to the taper used for the coupling with the liner. This angle gives the correct varus-valgus alignment to the joint. It is attached to the taper of a humeral stem to provide a connection point for either the Reverse CTA head that articulates with the Glenoid Fossa or the Reverse liner that provides an articulation point for the Reverse Glenosphere.
