Intended purpose
The humeral component with liner and ring,uncoated is a component of the METS Proximal Humeral Modular System, which is designed as a modular system that can be used to replace diseased or deficient bone of the proximal humerus. The METS Proximal Humeral Modular System is indicated for: - Primary bone tumour - Secondary tumour arising in bone - Non-neoplastic conditions affecting the shafts of long bones - Failed joint replacements - Failed massive replacements.
Functional description
The humeral component with liner and ring is an uncoated titanium humeral metaphysis component without soft tissue attachment rails. An UHMWPE liner is encased within the expanded proximal bowl of the humeral component for articulation with the glenoid component.The liner is supplied pre-assembled within the humeral component. A titanium retaining ring to help retain the glenoid head into the liner is also supplied with the humeral component.
