Intended purpose
The Salcman Twist Drill is intended for use with the Leksell Stereotactic System® that is intended for localization and diagnosis of intracranial disorders and their surgical treatment including radiosurgery and stereotactic radiation therapy.
Functional description
‘The Salcman Twist Drill Kit I consists of a set of neurosurgical instruments designed to allow a surgeon to place a hole with suitable diameter at a predetermined place on the patient’s skull. The surgeon may then, for example, take biopsies, implant electrodes, or evacuate cysts. The kit is positioned manually in accordance with the patient’s treatment protocol using the stereotactic arc. Contents include 2 twist drills with different diameters (2.1 and 3.2 mm) and other items.’
