Intended purpose

WoundClot Surgical is a soluble hemostat based on cellulosic structure. It is fully bio-compatible, bio-absorbable and provided sterile. in contact with liquids it forms an adhesive gel which expends and adheres to the wound for moderate to severe bleeding control in surgical procedures.

Functional description

The device is a single-use cellulosic gauze which undergoes a molecular modification to form an adhesive gel which expands and adheres to the wound for bleeding control. The device is flexible so that it can be easily packed into the wound. The gauze and formed gel have tensile strength and adhesiveness which are sufficient to keep the wound stable and attach to the surfaces for a duration which allows a stable clot to form.
