Intended purpose

EXCELSIUS GPS accessories are intended to be used with the EXCELSIUS GPS where a reference to a rigid anatomical structure, such as the skull, a long bone, or vertebra can be identified relative to a CT-based model, fluoroscopy images, or digitized landmarks of the anatomy. These instruments are either clamped around or driven into any rigid anatomy to provide a point of fixation for the Dynamic Reference Base (DRB).
