Intended purpose

Sterile Single-use loading units (staples in Cartridge) are intended for use with Endoscopic Linear Cutting Staplers (not included), for transection, resection, and/or creation of anastomoses, to mechanically fasten internal tissues together to facilitate healing in abdominal, thoracic and gynaecologic surgery. The unit is designed to deploy the staples in multiples (eg as a row of staples) and is often referred to as a single-use loading unit (SULU) or reload.
