Intended purpose
An implantable fastening device, implanted via a dedicated applicator, designed to secure the ends of a suture for approximation of soft tissue in general and cardiovascular surgical applications.
Functional description
The suture is inserted through the pre-loaded fastener and secured to the applicator. Manual activation of the applicator crimps and secures the fastener onto the suture. As this occurs, the applicator trims the suture tails away from the crimped fastener.
