Intended purpose
Quill Monoderm Knotless Tissue-Closure Device, Variable Loop Design (VLD) is indicated for use in soft tissue approximation where use of absorbable sutures is appropriate.
Functional description
The Quill Monoderm VLD knotless device is comprised of a synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical suture consisting of barbed suture material, armed with a surgical needle on one end and a loop at the opposite end. It is designed to anchor with a closed loop at one end and a uni-directional barbed section on the other end. The Quill VLD device barbs are oriented in one direction to allow tissue approximation without the need to tie surgical knots.
