Surgicryl Rapid (Polyglycolic Acid) - Suture, polyglycolic acid

Intended purpose

This is a sterile thread made of polyglycolic acid that is used to join the edges of a wound or incision by stiching. It is indicated for superficial sodt tissue approximation of skin mucosa only, plastic surgery,Obstetrics (Episiotomy repair), gycaecology, Urology(Circumcision). Ophtalmic surgery (Conjuctiva) and Paediatric surgery.

Functional description

This is a braided structure that has a coated multifiament that allows a soft passage through the tissue with minimal sawing, tissue drag and traumatism. Godd knot tiedown/adjustability and reduced capillary action. The hydrolytic action by wihich the material is broken down results in a toatl absorption in approximatley 42 days.
