Device Dossier for AssuCryl Rapid - Suture, polyglycolic acid (Suture, polyglycolic acid, Class III, sponsor Med & Surgical Requisites). ARTG record,…

Intended purpose

AssuCryl Rapid is intended for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation where only short therm wound support is required and when rapid absorption is indicated. Also for use in superficial skin closure, plastic surgery, episiotomy would healing, oral mucosa and conjunctival ophthalmic surgery.

Functional description

AssuCryl Rapid is a braided synthetic coated absorbable undyed suture material composed of Polyglycolic Acid. The coating material is made of Calcium Stearate from vegetal origin and Polycaprolactone. This makes it easier for the thread to pass through the tissue and improves handling of the material. Non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and allows rapid loss of tensile strength.
