Intended purpose

A reusable, hand-held, battery-powered, electronic device that measures a patient’s temperature. It may be an electronic unit with an attached probe or a single unit shaped like a capillary thermometer. The temperature reading is displayed for a short period before automatically switching off or going into standby mode.
