Intended purpose

Pleur-evac is intended for patients requiring the drainage of air or fluid from the pleural cavity or mediastinum. It is sterile and intended for single-use. The device is connected to an external hospital suction source. The PLEUR-EVAC Chest Drainage Unit is indicated: - To evacuate air and/or fluid from the chest cavity or mediastinum. - To help prevent air and/or fluid from re-accumulating in the chest cavity or mediastinum. - To help re-establish and maintain normal intrathoracic pressure gradients. - To facilitate complete lung re-expansion to restore normal breathing dynamics.
