Intended purpose

This hand held ultrasound transducer is intended to be positioned within a surgical site for localised intra-operative imaging applications. It steers, focuses and detects the ultrasound beam and resulting echoes either mechanically or electronically and can also be referred to as a surgical or fingertip probe.
