Intended purpose
The Proximal Femoral Component is a part of the Zimmer Segmental System and is indicated for Moderate to severe knee instability; Significant bone loss and/or ligament deficiencies caused by neoplasms, trauma, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, polyarthritis, collagen disorders, and/or avascular necrosis of the proximal and/or distal femur and/or proximal tibia; Valgus, varus or flexion deformities; The salvage of previously failed surgical attempts.
Functional description
Proximal Femoral Component contains anterior-to-posterior and medial-to-lateral oriented suture holes for tissue attachment. Proximal male 12/14 taper mates with female 12/14 taper of compatible femoral heads. Distal female taper mates with male taper of Segmental segment or stem extension. Anti-rotation tabs in female taper mate with slots at the base of the male taper of mating Segmental components. Manufactured from Tivanium Ti-6Al-4V alloy.
