Intended purpose

The Excia Hip Endoprosthesis Stem is intended to be used as a component of a human hip endoprosthesis during total hip arthroplasty procedures. In combination with Aesculap hip endoprosthetic components, the stem can be used to treat acute disorders of the hip such as degenerative osteoarthritis, rheumatic arthritis, fractures of the joint and femoral head necrosis that cannot be treated by other therapies. Intended for normal offset as well as high offset (laterised) to support an individual offset reconstruction.

Functional description

The Excia Hip Endoprosthesis Stem for implantation with bone cement is intended to be used in combination with Aesculap hip endoprosthetic components. The device is uncoated and made of Cobalt-chromium forged alloy CoCrMo and has a 12/14 cone.
