Intended purpose
A device used to repair or replace the femoral joint of the knee. Indications: Painful, disabling joint disease of the knee resulting from: degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or post-traumatic arthritis. Post-traumatic loss of knee joint configuration and function. Moderate varus, valgus, or flexion deformity in which the ligamentous structures can be returned to adequate function and stability. Revision of previous unsuccessful knee replacement or other procedure. TS Components Only: Severe anteroposterior and medial/lateral instability of the knee joint.
Functional description
The total stabilised femoral component is compatible with and intended for use with the stem extension and offset adaptor components. It is designed to provide intrinsic prosthetic constraint in a modular intramedullary stem design. It is waffled with LFIT (Low Friction Ion treatment) and package with a CoCr cap screw. It is made of cobalt chromium alloy. It is for cemented use only and is for use only with Scorpio PS and TS tibial inserts.
