Intended purpose

The implant is a component of the e.motion® System which is indicated for patients requiring primary or revision surgery. It is used as a component part of a human knee endoprosthesis in combination with e.motion mobile bearing knee endoprosthetic components. Indications: Severe knee joint conditions that cannot be treated through other therapies: - Degenerative osteoarthritis - Rheumatoid arthritis - Posttraumatic arthritis - Symptomatic knee instability - Knee stiffness - Deformation of the knee joint The surgeon can select the optimum solution for the patient from the various implant types of the knee systems, according to the severity of the condition. The surgeon is responsible for correctly establishing the indication.

Functional description

e.motion® UC is a rotating bicondylar surface replacement that allows, due to its ultra-congruent (UC) design, either preservation or resection of the posterior cruciate ligament. Functioning collateral ligaments, balances joint gaps and the highly congruent prosthesis design allow resecting the posterior cruciate ligament without femoral bone loss. e.motion UC/PS is made from CoCrMo alloy and is intended for cemented use.
