SiphonX® - Valve, hydrocephalic

Intended purpose

The SiphonX® gravitational and anti-siphon device is designed to control the siphon effect during the treatment of hydrocephalus by shunting Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF).

Functional description

SiphonX is a valve accessory designed to limit the siphon effect during CSF drainage. The gravitational anti-siphon device incorporates a ball-in-cone mechanism, well known for its precision and reliability. It is placed downstream of a CSF shunting valve giving it additional resistance depending on the position of the patient. This makes it possible to limit the siphon effect during CSF drainage when the patient stands up.
