Intended purpose
O2 assist is a medical device software intended for automated adjustment of delivered oxygen concentration. This automation assists the user with maintaining patient SpO2 within a target range that is set and monitored by healthcare professionals.
Functional description
Software option O2 Assist enables the Oxygen control value to be set automatically in order to maintain the patient’s SpO2 within a clinician-nominated range. When O2 Assist is not enabled, the clinician must manually adjust the oxygen control setting as appropriate for the patient. Software Option O2 Assist is intended for use only with compatible versions of the Hamilton Medical device HAMILTON-HF90.
