Intended purpose

Mepilex Ag is an antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing indicated for the management of low to moderately exuding wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns; used for infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under supervision of a qualified health care professional; can be used under compression bandaging.

Functional description

Mepilex Heel Ag, an antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound environment; containing silver sulphate that releases silver ions to create an effective bacterial barrier and inactivates a wide range of wound relevant pathogens (bacteria and fungi) during 24 hours; may reduce odour by reducing the number of microorganisms; inactivates wound related pathogens up to 7 days; minimises trauma to wound and surrounding skin and minimises pain for the patient
