Intended purpose

Silverlon® Lifesaver® IV / Catheter Dressings are Sterile, multilayer, non-adherent, absorbent, antimicrobial barrier dressings intended for topical use in wound management to reduce the risk of wound infection.

Functional description

The Silverlon® Lifesaver® IV / Catheter Dressing is a multilayer absorbent dressing incorporating pure elemental silver particles immobilised within a nylon web structure. This design ensures that the silver particles remain securely contained within the dressing and cannot come into direct contact with, penetrate, or be absorbed by the wound bed or exposed mucosal tissue. The antimicrobial activity of the dressing is achieved through the sustained release of silver ions
