Adhesive, soft tissue approximation

Device Category Dossier for Adhesive, soft tissue approximation. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Tissue adhesives are high viscosity, flexible liquid gel formulations applied topically that cover and protect wounds by providing a barrier, with their flexible composition enabling easy application and preventing inadvertent spread to unwanted areas. These devices are used for closure of clean surgical incisions and trauma-induced lacerations with easily approximated wound edges, as well as fixation of reinforcement materials such as hernia meshes on soft tissues and sclerotherapy of oesophageal or fundal varices.
