Capsular tension rings are unresorbable implants intended for stabilisation of the capsular bag during cataract surgery, where they are permanently implanted into the capsular bag. They are used for stabilisation of the crystalline lens capsule with weak or partially absent zonules in adult patients undergoing cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation.
