Computed radiography systems acquire and digitise

X-ray images using a cassette containing a photostimulatable phosphor screen, which converts the X-ray exposure into an electrical signal that is scanned by a laser, amplified, and converted to a digital signal for storage and processing by computer. These systems are used for radiographic examinations of the chest, abdomen and musculo-skeletal regions in both paediatric and adult patients.
