Heel protectors are devices that redistribute pressure on vulnerable heels and reduce friction and shearing whilst allowing airflow and easy monitoring to prevent heel pressure ulcers in at-risk patients. These devices are used in acute care settings, long-term care settings, or in the home for patients with high pressure ulcer risk to prevent new pressure ulcers or to offload pre-existing heel pressure ulcers.
