Device Category Dossier for Cystoscope, rigid. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Rigid cystoscopes are endoscopes with a rigid inserted portion intended for visual examination and treatment of the bladder and urinary tract. They are inserted into the urethra through the natural urinary orifice during cystoscopy, with anatomical images transmitted to the user through relayed lens optics or a fibreoptic bundle. These devices are used to examine and diagnose incontinence, urinary retention, and recurrent urinary tract infections, as well as to remove tissue samples, stones, and small tumours from the bladder and for prostate removal.
