Ozone generators are devices that produce ozone gas and incorporate it into a water-based solution to destroy harmful micro-organisms or inhibit their activity. The ozonated water solution is used in infection control applications including handwashing, dental unit waterline disinfection, pre- and post-procedural mouth rinses, surface and equipment cleaning, instrument pre-rinsing before autoclaving to eliminate biofilm, and food rinsing prior to preparation.
